Objective: To enhance the process explorer in the process mining tool by providing a preview of the connection duration distribution when a user clicks on the connection between two activities. This feature aims to give better visibility into the impact of connection durations on the overall process performance.

Description: In the current process explorer, users can explore connections between various activities. However, understanding the duration and distribution of these connections can be challenging without detailed analysis. To address this, I propose a feature that displays a histogram preview of the connection duration distribution upon clicking a connection between two activities in the process explorer.

Key Features:

1. Interactive Connection Preview:

   • When a user clicks on a connection between two activities in the process explorer, a pop-up or side panel appears showing a histogram of the connection duration distribution.

2. Histogram Display:

   • The histogram provides a visual representation of how connection durations are distributed, highlighting the frequency of different duration ranges.

   • The histogram will include key statistical information such as mean, median, and standard deviation of the connection durations.

3. Impact Analysis:

   • The preview will also show how these connection durations impact the overall process performance, helping users identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

   • Annotations or markers on the histogram will indicate outliers or exceptionally long connection durations that could be critical in process improvement.

4. User Customization:

   • Users can customize the histogram view, selecting different time ranges, bin sizes, and comparison metrics to tailor the analysis to their specific needs.

5. Export and Reporting:

   • Users can export the histogram and its data for reporting and further analysis, ensuring that insights gained from the preview can be shared and acted upon.
